Dorothee Bär (née Mantel, born April 19, 1978[1] in Bamberg, Bavaria) is a Catholic,[1] German politician, and member of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). She grew up and lives in Ebelsbach, Landkreis Haßberge.[1] She graduated from High School in Grayslake, Illinois in 1996 and from Franz-Ludwig-Gymnasium in Bamberg in 1999.[1] She studied political science at several universities throughout Germany and received her Diplom in 2005 from Otto-Suhr-Institut of the Free University of Berlin.[1] She is married and has a daughter.[2] She has also worked as a journalist for several radio stations and newspapers.[1]
She is a member of the Bundestag and represents Wahlkreis (electoral district) #248 comprising three Landkreise: Bad Kissingen, Rhön-Grabfeld, and Haßberge.[2]
